SHFT Participation in Dutch Digital Architecture Report

On October 15th, 2022 the Het Nieuwe Instituut (the Netherlands national museum for architecture, design, and digital culture) published an in-depth report on the challenges of managing born-digital architectural records. SHFT founder, Dr. Eric Kaltman, provided input into the project through an interview with the report's primary author Ania Molenda. Dr. Kaltman is quoted in the publication due to his experience with interactive project design records. The full report, Understanding Digital Architecture, can be found on the museum's website

SHFT Work Accepted for SCCUR 2022

SHFT associates DesireƩ Caldera, Adam Larson and Morgan McMurray will be presenting their emulation workflows at the Southern California Conferences for Undergraduate Research. Associate Matilda Orona will also be presenting on her Flash preservation research. The conference will host 400 posters and 200 oral presentations from over 40 institutions across Southern Calfornia at Pepperdine University in Malibu on November 19th.

SHFT Presents at Fall SURF Showcase

SHFT associates DesireƩ Caldera, Adam Larson, and Morgan McMurray presented their poster, "Evaluating Emulation Workflows for Historical Software and Data" at the Fall SURF showcase event. The students are planning on submitting this work to the Southern California Conference on Undergraduate Research (SCCUR) in the coming weeks.
