Dr. Eric Kaltman is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the Computer Science Department at California State University Channel Islands. He has a B.A. from the University of Michigan in History and Asian Studies, an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Asian Studies (Chinese) from the University of California Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Expressive Intelligence Studio at the University of California Santa Cruz.
While gathering up his degrees he worked as a project archivist at Stanford University Libraries, a web developer for Aclima, and a contract game and UI developer for the Berkeley Institute of Design. Previous to CI, he was a CLIR Postdoctoral Fellow for Data Curation in the Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University Libraries.
Beginning in January 2024, he will transition to an Assistant Professor position in the Media and Technology Studies Department at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.
